CBR Review: All-Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder Vol. 1

I recently reviewed All-Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder vol. 1 for CBR and, in the process, wrote the following sentences: "Has there been a more derided and divisive comic from DC or Marvel over the past few years than All-Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder? From internet memes surrounding ‘the goddamn Batman’ to the scandal over swearing not being properly blacked out to venom and bile piled upon the series for its portrayal of the Dark Knight as just plain mean and cruel... it’s not what anyone expected, but it is very good and exactly what a comic about Batman’s second year in action should be."

great review! I love this comic and i am hoping it starts coming out again soon. This was too intresting a project to just abandon.

I'll say it again and again - this is my favorite Batman story, ever. I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciated Jim Lee's art, too.

just bought the set of comics of this even though all i'd heard was bad things.

first new batman stuff i've read in years and absolutely loving it and glad to see i'm not alone.

can't be bothered keeping up with continuities in the dc universe so this is perfect. can't believe people can get so worked up about someone presenting a different view of batman and lee's artwork is stupidly good.
